Lesson 1 - 20th February

LEARN THE BASIC KNITTING SKILLS and let the sky be the limit!

Skills needed:

Skills learned:

This week you will learn to cast on, knit, purl, change yarn, cast off and weave in yarn ends. Then we’ll do some simple increases, decreases and show you how to pick up stitches.

Materials needed:

Yarn - any amount, any weight will do. We will practice knitting a sample square, so scrap yarn will do.
Needles - Provided by Agnieszka /as she has tons and tons of needles at home and only knits with 2 at a time ;o)/
Tapestry needle and scissors, which can be shared between people.

IMPORTANT

The class will teach the continental knitting (not British).

There will be no rhymes to memorise, unless we make up something as we go ;o)

Knitting in Public in Galway 2009

We've started early, which doesn't happen often in Ireland :o) Nina organized a meeting at the Menlo hotel (which is a perfect place not only because it's 5 minutes from my house, hihi). There were 5 of us: Nina, Lisa, Eve, Mairin and me. Plus two adorable Eve's daughters. We had fantastic two hours, had some coffee, did some knitting (me and Mairin) and crocheting (Nina and Lisa). I took few crappy pictures as you can see. The meeting was not planed as a WWKIP party but as a first (of hopefully many) Galway S'n'B meetings. But could there be a better day to start than WWKIP day?

Zaczęłyśmy wcześnie, co w Irlandii nie często się udaje ;o) Nina zorganizowała spotkanie w hotelu Menlo, który jest idealnym miejscem do spotkań nie tylko dlatego że jest niecałe 5 minut od mojego domu, hihi. Było nas 5: Nina, Lisa, Eve, Mairin i ja. Plus dwie księżniczki Eve. Czas przeleciał nam migiem, świetnie się bawiłyśmy przy kawei, drutach i szydełku. Pstryknęlam kilka beznadziejnych fotek dla dokumentacji. Co prawda nasze sobotnie spotkanie ni było w zamyśle związane z WWKIP a jako inauguracja Stitch'n'Bitch w Galway, ale czyz to nie jest idealny termin żeby zacząć spotkania grupy włóczkoholiczek??
